Genisoy Ultra XT (chocolate)

My favorite soy protein for using in smoothies is chocolate Ultra XT from Genisoy.


At first I was skeptical of protein powder so I chose a familiar brand, and it was on sale- supplements are expensive so that was important. Now I like the brand I buy it whether or not it is on sale because it blends well with other ingredients, has a very smooth texture and tastes good.

I began drinking soy smoothies last year when I altered my diet to have more protein at breakfast. I previously ate all carbs and a little fat at breakfast. I was usually starving by mid-morning with little energy; I thought it could be my diet so after some reading I decided a simple change would be to try eating more protein. After the first two days of having a smoothie with the protein powder in it for breakfast I stayed full longer, felt more satisfied, and my energy level was consistent and it lasted until lunch.

I chose soy protein powder because I did not want to consume whey protein. I am not comfortable with the use of hormones and antibiotics in the dairy industry.
