Drinking green tea for weight loss

I was a college cheerleader and I was the tallest girl on my squad. It was a co-ed squad so needless to say I wanted to stay fit and trim so that I would not be the"heaviest girl" just because of my height. I wanted to do it in a healthy way so I read up on many things that would be good for weight loss, fast metabolism, and exercise. One of the things that I stumbled upon was green tea.


I started drinking green tea four or five years ago and I have not turned back. I drink it every morning and sometimes in the evening near dinnertime (especially if I am cold). I heard and have read that green tea speeds up metabolism. I do believe this is true and I believe that it helps to keep your weight down, however results are not overnight. You have to be a consistent drinker. At least one or two cups a day.

I would say that I noticed a difference after a few months of drinking green tea. I did not lose a ton of weight, because I was never really overweight, however I have lost some weight and I do feel that it has helped me maintain my goal weight. I have also read that if you drink green tea before or during meals that it helps break down food properly and is another way to speed up metabolism.

Green Tea is great to drink because of the antioxidants to keep you healthy. I am a pre-school teacher now so it helps keep me healthy!
