Ab Exercise Wheel is my Best Abs Exercise

I've tried a lot of ab exercises (captain's chair, all forms of crunches, sit ups, roman chair, ab weight machines, etc) but the only one that gives me the feeling that I've actually worked my abs is this abs wheel.

I'm surprised it doesn't get better rankings and maybe the feeling I'm getting from the workout is a false sense of accomplishment. I think working the abs too hard is overrated anyway since too much exercise will build the muscle giving you the distended look.

You really need moderate conditioning exercise and then a good diet and metabolism increasing exercises to burn the fat off of your stomach to eventually get that lean look (6 pack or not).
