Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds DVD
by Jacque
I wanted to start an exercise program, but I knew that I couldn't jump around like the tiny people I see on the usual exercise programs. The Walk Away the Pounds workouts consist of four moves: walking, side steps, kicks, and knee raises. The workouts are great since they work for everyone: they are easy enough for beginners, yet adaptable for those that are more advanced. As the workouts become easier, I add weights to make the moves more challenging. Not only do I get a great cardio workout, but I also get some strength exercises in as well. More bang for my buck in my book! These workouts are low-impact, easy on the knees, and don't require fancy footwork, which is a bonus if you're less-than-graceful like me. There are no dance steps to follow, so it doesn't matter if I go one way while the group on TV goes the other; as long as I keep walking and moving, I'm getting a great workout. There is only one drawback: after a while, the moves can get repetitive and a bit monotonous. When this happens, I mute the TV and put on my own music and just follow along with the moves. This keeps me moving and also keeps me entertained with my own music. Overall, Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds DVD gets two thumbs-up from me! |
