Best ab workout when you have back aches?

My abs exercise question is what is the best ab workout you could do if you are having back aches and problems?

Just to start out, I'm assuming that you have seen your doctor for your back aches already, but if not, I recommend you do before starting any exercise program.

For your lower back pain, check out the page on Low Back Pain Management.

For your situation, I would recommend for strengthening your abs that you start with my Lower Abdominal Exercises and the Plank if you are able to do it without aggravating your low back ache. If the ache settles down within two hours of doing the exercise, then it's okay to continue. However, if the exercise flares us your symptoms for longer than that, you should discontinue the exercise.
