Abs Exercise Warmup

by Cathy

Is there a warm up exercise for your abs? Every time I try to start my ab workout I have to stop because of muscle spasms.

What does this mean? Can I never workout my abs? No one can answer this for me. If you can, thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Cathy

Cathy,
Thank you for your question. I assume you have
already talked to your family doctor about this - is
this true? If not, you will want to discuss this
question with your doctor. One question you might
want to ask him about is finding out if there are
certain nutrients that you need more of in your diet.

One thing that you can try is an abdominal stretch
before and after every abs exercise. A good way to
stretch and relax your abdominal muscles is to lay on
the floor on your stomach and push up with your arms
leaving your hips on the floor until you feel a strain
(not pain) in your stomach muscles.
